Is this Portuguese?

First of all, I would like to excuse all my fellows who are interested in learning Portuguese as well to excuse even Portuguese native speakers for these "deturpações" in the language. But as everybody knows, besides the colloquialism there is the regionalism. That is the reason why people have so many problems when they are learning Portuguese and they are sent to Minas Gerais state to learn it in an exchange programme or simply if you are travelling over here. If it happens to anyone of you, please don't get desparated, because besides Portuguese you can also learn "mineirês", the language we speak in Minas Gerais. On the other hand, mineirês is not considered to be a dialect or a new language, so we still speak Portuguese according to the official authorities. By the way, I had many problems about people trying to understand me when travelling out of Minas. But once you have learned mineirês, you can understand any Portuguese, any accent in Brasil! This is not me telling you this, but a French and an American friends of mine. There are those who are gonna tell you how ugly mineirês can be and sound, therefore there will be the ones who are going to say "if I hear a mineira speaking, I can fall in love for her"...lol

For instance I have got part of a mineiro's speaking. Let's see if you can read it!!

Check it out: Last Saturday, it was the seventh of September (Brazilian Independence Day), I was in the kitchen having a cachaça with honey and cooking a kilo of meat with tomato sauce to make spaghetti with roasted chicken.

I almost fell from shock when I hear a noise coming from inside the oven that sounded like a gunshot. The recipe had called for the chicken to be stuffed with popcorn to roast.

The oven got hot, mixed up, and the chicken exploded. Oh my God! I was as white as a liter of milk! It was ridiculous!

I almost fell into the sink! I had no idea where I came from, where I was going, or where I was. Look how crazy it was! Thank God no one got hurt!

I have been living lately in Minas Gerais, and that´s the way they speak. Tomando uma caipinha, they speak tomano,eles não falam o "d".Quatro(4), eles falam quato, leitinho eles falan leitin... todas as palavras que terminan em nho or nha, terminam no n... quejin (queijinho) mesmo aqueles que fazem faculdade,mas fica muito feio,embora seja o accent deles.O pior de tudo é o "nóis vai" em vez de "nos vamos" esse é de doer os ouvidos. Só os mineiros que vão trabalhar ou estudar em S.Paulo ou outras cidades perdem esse sotaque,mas quando vêm passar férias eles precisam falar mineiro para não serem tachados como esnobes,principalmente o "nóis vai" ou o "nóis podia ir" em vez de " poderiamos ir".Eu ainda não peguei o accent deles... the country accent. rsrsrs

Come on, Louren... Don't give so much thought for this...Don't get ofended...Carol is minera too! Actually, I agree when she says that it's difficult for someone who has learned Portuguese in MG to understand a different accent here in Brazil...By the way, last year I met some friends from Sampa..It was awful to understand, but it was great to be with them! They belong to different cities, but they seem like foreigners to me..Not only was the vocabulary weird, but also the accent..We had a lot of fun together, but we got confused too. LOL Well, that's the way it is. I'm from Rio and people keep saying that I am a "panela de pressão" with all the xissssss....but I don't care...thank god we are different! I just love different accents and learning new words or slangs...brazilian or portuguese ones!
