Well the crisis here is not so good. I heard that Brazil is going well.
So I think when you live in a place that you have to speak the language that you want to learn is much better... Because every day you are learning something.
When I came my English was awful. I thought that it was good but it wasn`t.
If you have opportunity to leave here in the USA or another country that you have to speak. Go ahead.

As to your question on Brazil - I used to work and live there for almost 3 years. My favorite is Nordeste where I can dance Forro and Axe :-). My wife and I used to go out clubbing a few times per week, you know keeping up with my Brazilian friends.
