The U.K. fashion industry brings in £26 billion ($39.6 billion) to the U.K. economy, according to data from Oxford Economics. The devil wears a Dirndl

Oktoberfest has officially begun, and the dirndls are out. Munich’s two-week beer festival may be more famous for its hoppy amber drafts, 600 to 800 pass-out-drunk bodies, and impressive but steadily decreasing number of brawls—but in recent years it has also become a fashion event, briefly diverting the attention of Germany’s style writers from international runways to folk costume, and turning magazine websites into the mother lode of 16-part slideshow tutorials fordauntingly complicated,…

Kanye West’s show, a last-minute addition to New York Fashion Week on Wednesday, Sept. 16 at noon, is causing headaches for at least one fashion designer. New York Fashion Week is getting a facelift this season, and to accompany all the changes comes a new venue to shake up the party scene.

It’s the first foray into nightlife from owner Gabriel Levy, who teamed up with Sapphire owner Jahan Salarimatin in 2013.

Hillary Clinton Is Winning the Fashion Schmoozing Race

For the past two election cycles, Barack Obama was fashion’s undisputed candidate of choice, championed in particular by top bundler Anna Wintour. The Vogue editor-in-chief might as well have been his campaign manager: She hosted multiple fund-raising dinners for Obama, marshaled everyone from Marc Jacobs to Proenza Schouler toNarciso Rodriguez to design items for his Runway to Win initiative, and put him on the cover of Men’s Vogue (R.I.P.) twice. Of course, it didn’t hurt that Michelle…
